Sustainability

nick holding awardSarah Trotman from Sarah Trotman and Associates, the organizers of the Wellington Small Business Expo hands Nick Rowney from Wellington web development company 3months, the OGGI Exhibitor Award for the Most Sustainable Site.

Sustainability was the theme of this year's Small Business Expo. The Award was judged by Hamish Allardice from The Ministry for the Environment and was for the most sustainable Expo site.

3months is currently reviewing their sustainability practices with Mike Sammons from Sustainability Consulting Ltd and was delighted to receive the award.

Nick Rowney said "3months is committed to becoming a carbon natural company both from an environmental perspective and because it makes good business sense".

3months won the award in part due to their Expo site being fitted out with pre owned furniture, reusable signage and brochures and the staff getting to and from the venue on foot. But the thing that caught the judge's eye was the substitution of a large Plasma screen with a $10.00 piece of white card and a tiny projector. The result was the same but the energy saving was considerable.

On receiving the Award Nick challenged all the companies attending the Expo next year to do the same, "imagine the energy savings by removing 70 Plasma screens from next year's Expo".
